Video shooting

Our first shoot was planned to be in London along the south bank area. Previous to the day we had walk down south bank to ensure we knew which areas we would be using and making sure by using the area we would not be causing any disruption to the public or local businesses. we wanted to keep to the edge of the Thames so that audiences would recognise key aspects of the London background for example snap shots of the Tate modern and St Paul's cathedral connote the location of central London which many consumers could find appealing due to counter cultural attraction. However some back streets had to be used as they allowed better terrain for the skateboarding in which the south bank did not. The skateboarding shots took roughly 3-4 hours and we filmed everything we need to which meant there was no reason to ome back and shoot any more.
The second shoot was the performance shots. We got four band members to play the song. We had the track playing along with it so the band members kept in sync with the track. We did a selection of 3 longs cuts. One was a steady cam shot in which we used the tri-pod. there was no movement for this shot. The second an third were moving handicam shots in which i used several angles. This meant that once we had sycronised the shots with the track we could pick out a desired selection of the cut and insert into the timeline.

Animation

Part of the preparation for our music video was to make a simple animation of the music video using still images.
The editing stage helped greatly for a clearer and more detailed understanding of how to use adobe premiere elements.
Looking back at the animated music video after finishing helped us to understand the way in which the filming and editing works. We found that some areas can become very time consuming and tedious so breaking down certain jobs and careful planning can improve time taken to achieve the whole project. An example of this could be the transfer of clips and files and a time saving option could be to start the download of the files and leave it while you start another job like risk assessment forms.
While editing the clips it came aparent that it was in our interest to alter the timing of some clips as we had a better understanding of the structure of both the music video and music track. After the clip times were edited to our new specification in order to convey amplification we corrected the times on our cuts sheet.
